Rantum Capital Investment News

Frankfurt-based Mittelstand financier Rantum Capital celebrates its 10th anniversary and continues on its growth path

“By entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs” – the maxim of what is now Germany’s largest private debt fund has proven its worth in the tenth year since it was founded. In addition to the three private debt funds, the private equity fund launched in 2020 is also showing a positive development. With its four funds, Rantum Capital currently manages well over EUR 1 billion.

“The joint success of the last 10 years is based on various factors. The proximity to German Mittelstand companies enables Rantum to identify interesting investment opportunities, support Mittelstand companies with capital when they are making major decisions and, at the same time, achieve an attractive return for our investors. In addition, we were able to ensure consistent process and analysis quality and intensify new contacts through the consistency, but also the expansion of our investment team. The high stability of our investor base confirms the continued success on our path.”, said Managing Partners Dirk Notheis and Marc Pahlow.

Rantum’s private debt funds are currently invested in more than 40 portfolio companies. Around 70% of the transactions originate from the investment team’s network and industrial partners. The focus on growing, fundamentally strong companies is proving successful: Over the holding period, both sales and EBITDA have increased by an average of around 50% in the portfolio.

Since its launch in 2020, the current Rantum Private Equity Fund has invested in five platform investments and also made several add-on acquisitions. Again, the majority of the transactions originated in Rantum Capital’s broad networks. The investment focus of the private equity fund is on majority investments in growing companies in promising sectors, with roots in the German-speaking Mittelstand.

“We are pleased with the solid and steady growth – both in assets under management and in attracting new highly qualified team members. Rantum sees itself as an entrepreneur-led mid-sized company: A well-considered approach, sound analyses and a sustainable strategy are at the core of the business model.”, said Dr. Karl-Ludwig Kley, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Rantum Capital.
